A roaring time was had by all when 20 children from Hunter Mobile Preschool’s Lochinvar venue travelled to the Zoo!

Hunter Valley Zoo Excursion

Recently the staff at Hunter Mobile Preschool’s Lochinvar venue travelled by bus with 20 students and more than 10 volunteer parents for a roaring adventure out to Hunter Valley Zoo!

The children were excited to explore the grounds of the Zoo with many parents and children commenting that it was the first time they had been.

A variety of birds and native wildlife captured the attention of the children as they walked through the gates, with the educators gathering groups of children to help read the information plaques out to the children so they could learn all about the animals, their history and natural habitat.

Five-year-old Henry said it was the first time he had visited the zoo and his favourite animal was the Kangaroo.

“I had lots of fun with my friends and love all the animals, especially the Kangaroos,” Henry said. “One of my favourite parts of the whole day was also being on the big bus with my friends to get there,” he said.

With the support and permission of parents, Hunter Mobile Preschool explores local landmarks and venues close to each location. The group at Lochinvar will often visit Luskintyre Airfield for an educational day learning about aviation and will even go on small group walks to the local post office to educate the children on road safety and the process of mailing letters.
